Would you consider my lack of desire for a god or goddess to be proof that a god or goddess doesn't exist? Desires aren't proof of anything, in the sense of empirical, scientific proof. I have a desire to be able to turn back time or become immortal, that doesn't mean it's possible or exists.

Wishful thinking has become conflated with reality in the last 5 years. It's a dangerous thing. Society has been forced to not criticise people's beliefs and desires, even when the actual proof or evidence for such things are lacking. We live in precarious times, only made more precarious by fuzzy thinking.
